Are you for real? (David Manning)

Are you for real? (David Manning)

Manning has a point; the Constitution doesn’t matter anymore; and we have lost our right to vote.

After The Storms

After The Storms

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The skies are filled with the brooding thickness of a stormy morning. Rain is pounding the steel roof of my office, blurring the image of the world through the window’s glass pane. The vicious flooding on the streets brings with it a renewal of much needed life-nourishing water. The growth of indigenous weeds are rising alongside green blades of new grass through the soaked lawn out front that was browning from the thirst of a drought only days before. The Siberian Husky has retreated to the safety of her dog house, and the palm tree stands tall, dripping from the onslaught of a week’s worth of much needed moisture.

With the needed rain comes a destructive force, as well. Hillsides stripped of ground-cover from last season’s fires are sliding downward, pouring mud onto the neighborhoods below. Creeks are flooding over, and storm drains can’t seem to eliminate the water fast enough from major intersections flooded with impatient traffic carrying bodies that are desperately trying to get to work. Trees have fallen, and automobile accidents have dotted the highways. But perhaps the most destructive part of the storms is the least explored consequence of all.

Commerce Clause Regarding Health Care Legislation

Commerce Clause Regarding Health Care Legislation

The excuse used by the federal government for restrictions on gun ownership, the disallowance of health insurance being sold across state lines, or the restrictions placed by the feds on anything else that crosses state lines is in the U.S. Constitution. Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, also known as the [...]

Who Do They Really Work For?

Who Do They Really Work For?

Image by Tony the Misfit via Flickr It’s the naked truth now:  Congress will spend your money to get votes from anyone else, even if it means you and yours will suffer at the hands of a person elected in another state, just so the party in power will be able to claim some victory, [...]

Thoughts On Being Unemployed

Thoughts On Being Unemployed

Today is the second day of the rest of my life. The second day of unemployment and what a funny feeling this is. In my thirty’s I was unemployed for a couple of weeks, in my 40′s for a couple of months and each time as a door closed, the one that opened was for [...]

Maybe the Western World doesn’t want to exist any longer

Maybe the Western World doesn’t want to exist any longer

I’ve been invited to post here, and these days are troublesome…and each day moreso. Trying to collect my thoughts, when each day seems to expose a new point of how we have subconsciously told oursleves (the “western” world part) that we are not fit to exist. How?  By averting our eyes, by purposefully pretending there [...]

2010 Election Looms Near for Democrats

2010 Election Looms Near for Democrats

The primary difference between liberals and conservatives is the size of government. The more someone moves to the left, the more government control over the people becomes a factor in their thinking. The more someone moves to the right, the less government is thought to be necessary in their lives. Tyranny versus liberty. Big Brother versus taking care of yourself.

Government, once it begins to grow, is a difficult monster to keep on a leash. Creeping incrementalism, I call it. The size of government will grow in an incremental manner over history until it comes to the point that the populace becomes enslaved by massive government, at which point revolution becomes the only means possible to change things back in the direction of liberty. When in the phase of growth, government exists for itself. Everything it does is for it’s survival, and growth.

Obama’s Hidden Past

Obama’s Hidden Past

In addressing the issue of Barack Obama’s birth certificate, and exactly where the president was born, I write a number of articles on the issue. Since some of them explore the possibility of a forgery having been created and aged under ultraviolet lamps, or because I have interviewed folks on my radio program like Orly Taitz (lawyer with numerous cases in the courts regarding Obama’s birth certificate) on the matter, it is automatically assumed by the leftists that I am a “birther” to the extreme. That is how they are. Give them something that may be construed a certain way, then their warped minds try to read into it, and a whole series of accusations rise to the surface.
