The Newport News DailyPress.com reports :

Two of the three Navy elite commando SEALS who are facing military court martial for their arrest of an Islamic terrorist are going to have trials in Iraq so that they can exercise their right to confront their accuser face-to-face.

WTF?

Special Warfare Operater 2nd Class Jonathan Keefe, Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Julio Huertas and Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Matthew McCabe are accused of mistreating Ahmed Hashim Abed after arresting him and denying wrongdoing in later statements to commanders.

This is the infamous case of the Islamofascist mastermind of the 2004 murders of the Blackwater contractors in Fallujah. Their crime? Making a food delivery. Abed complained he was “punched” by these SEALs. In contrast, Abed’s crime was to mastermind the crimes of -setting those American contractors on fire, beating their bodies to splinters, dragging them behind vehicles, and then hanging them from that bridge over the Euphrates while frenzied crowds jumped around cheering for the media.

Abed was turned over to Iraqi authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. (Fox News) Oh, yeah, right out of the Al Qaeda playbook; complain about the treatment of your captors.

U.S. Military commanders, (who apparently suffer from the same “politically-correct” illness as the President of the United States) allege that SWO2 McCabe may have punched Abed after his arrest. The alleged “crime” of the other two SEALS is, apparently, that they didn’t rat out their fellow soldier. Abed may have also suffered a cut lip in the incident. Background on this story is here and here.

Sheesh-it’s not bad enough that there is a mosque next to Ground Zero, a mosque being built over the graves of the Flight 93 heroes in Pennsylvania, or that the 9/11 mastermind khalid Sheikh Mohammed was given his first wish and brought to Hew York and lawyered up; or that the Christmas underpants bomber was given that same ‘privilege’-we have our own military personnel charged by our own government with questionable crimes on the basis of lies from known terrorists…and can’t even confront their accuser in America. There is SO MUCH WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE.

Sadly, though, this scenario is a broken record while we have numerous military personnel at Leavenworth and in other prisons, charged with the same sort of ridiculous BS; instead of getting the medals and hero recognition they really deserve.

It’s the naked truth now:Â Congress will spend your money to get votes from anyone else, even if it means you and yours will suffer at the hands of a person elected in another state, just so the party in power will be able to claim some victory, while burning down the house?

I have often mused that the entire 535 people in the Congress should have to take my phone calls/letters/emails, because they take my money. Add to that, they will tell you they are doing the work of “the people.”

They are paid by Federal funds. Those are collected from everyone…yet somehow these people continue to blow off anyone outside their districts. At one level, I could buy that, if they actually worked for their districts, but…as we now see in the abomination of a health care bill, they will be very happy to “redistribute your wealth” to get enough votes, so long at the hold outs get what they want for their district…AT YOUR EXPENSE!

So much for equal rights, so much for “equality,” so much for “justice.” It’s just naked power grabs, and to hell with anyone who doesn’t like it.

We have all known this is how some of it went, but now there seems to be no vestige of fair play left in the system, just who can keep their friends in the money.

I thought of the Christmas 2007 videos of the Presidential Candidates, in particular Hillary Clinton’s, where it was all about what they would take from someone else in order to give something to someone else, just to get the vote. “Regifting” at the Federal level, and not one of them mentioned how they would personally provide something, just that they would rob Peter and pay Pauline.

Add to that that no one can even read the bill before it is voted on. Anyone who has been an employer would fire an employee, sent to represent them at a meeting, only to find out they didn’t read the material, but cut deals with the others in the room, because they personally would benefit, even while the company suffered a loss.

That’s Congress. They don’t work for their pay, they take our money so they can sit there and vote themselves privilege, even while we are out of work, and have crushing debt piling up…at their own hand.

We should be able to call them, any one of them and voice our opinion, and they should have a mechanism to hear it, instead of rejecting it based on address. They do what affects all of us, yet they put up walls to keep our voices out.

Now, we’ll have to listen to them complain that they sacrificed time with their families to stay in the deep (record breaking) snow of DC to make sure this vote was conducted in the favor of the Democrats alone, while Americans, the run of the mill, small business owners and regular people, will be force to send money to DC to cover their political commitments in other states to buy votes for the next 4 years, while getting nothing in return. In a private setting, you’d get to sue the provider for not providing, but then…this it President Obama and the Democrats at work telling you where you will send your money and that you will go to jail if you do not.

2010 can’t come soon enough. Maybe Americans will have awakened by then…or they will have been stupefied by being told they will have everything taken care of by Big Brother. How stupid we have become, and we let it happen.

Wednesday 16 December 2009,

Many if not most, fellow milblogs — including This Ain’t Hell, From My Position, Miss Ladybug, Boston Maggie, Grim’s Hall, and those participating in the Wednesday Hero program — are going silent for the day. Some are choosing to go silent for a longer period of time. Thunder Run, as an example, will resume operations on Monday December 21, 2009.

The reason for this is two-fold.

First, milblogs are facing an increasingly hostile environment from within the military. While senior leadership has embraced blogging and social media, many field grade officers and senior NCOs do not embrace the concept. From general apathy in not wanting to deal with the issue to outright hostility to it, many commands are not only failing to support such activities, but are aggressively acting against active duty milbloggers, milspouses, and others. The number of such incidents appears to be growing, with milbloggers receiving reprimands, verbal and written, not only for their activities but those of spouses and supporters.

The catalyst has been the treatment of milblogger C.J. Grisham of A Soldier’s Perspective. C.J. has earned accolades and respect, from the White House on down for his honest, and sometimes blunt, discussion of issues — particularly PTSD. In the last few months, C.J. has seen an issue with a local school taken to his command who failed to back him, and has even seen his effort to deal with PTSD, and lead his men in same by example, used against him as a part of this. Ultimately, C.J. has had to sell his blog to help raise funds for his defense in this matter.

An excellent story on the situation with C.J. can be found at Military Times: While there have been new developments, the core problem remains, and C.J. is having to raise funds to cover legal expenses to protect both his good name and his career.

One need only look at the number of blogs by active duty military in combat zones and compare it to just a few years ago to see the chilling effect that is taking place.

Milblogs have been a vital link in getting accurate news and information about the military, and military operations, to the public. They have provided vital context and analysis on issues critical to operations and to the informed electorate critical to the Republic.

On Wednesday 16 December, readers will have the chance to imagine a world without milblogs, and to do something about it. Those participating are urging their readers to contact their elected representatives in Congress, and to let their opinions be known to them and to other leaders in Washington.

Some milblogs will remain silent for several days; some just for the day. All have agreed to keep the post about the silence and C.J. at the top of their blogs until Friday 18 December.

The issues go beyond C.J., and deserve careful consideration and discussion. We hope that you will cover this event, and explore the issues that lie at the heart of the matter. Contact the milbloggers in your area or that you know, and hear the story that lies within.

Synopsis: In Vietnam a group of Marines accept a mission to enter into neighboring Cambodia to pick up a defecting Russian General. Once across the border, a Russian officer not willing to let the general go so easily complicates the rescue when he pursues the group with Soviet Commando troops, and gives the Marines a little more trouble than they bargained for.

After a barrage of Hollywood films that have portrayed the American Soldier in a negative light, Jack Marino decided it was time to make a film that reveals the true nature of the military. The troops in Vietnam consisted of fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons. Each one of them were brothers in arms in that foreign land, with all of the same real emotions that one would expect them to have.

Jack Marino’s theatrical thank you to our forgotten heroes begins with a meeting near the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. The pair of old friends reminisce, and send us back to a time when war in Vietnam was still a reality.

The discussion between the two veterans leads to the memory of a mission into Cambodia. A firefight erupts and it turns out to be an entanglement with Russian troops that are not even supposed to be there. As the firefight comes to its conclusion, two American Marines hiding nearby observe a Russian general, played by veteran actor William Smith. Later, the intel comes back on the general, and it turns out he wants to defect, and it is up to a team of United States Marines to bring him in. . . from Cambodia.

As the film works its way through the base camp in Vietnam, into the dark, moist jungles, and across the border into Cambodia, the realism of the scenery reaches out an pulls you into the action. The characters are rich with unique flavor, and the action rivals any of the war scenes Hollywood has to offer.

Forgotten Heroes also offers a quaint addition for those of you who have been fans of Hollywood films for generations, because the film carries a feel consistent with the war movies of the 1970s, as well it should.

Jack Marino has crafted a Vietnam movie that patriots have been waiting to see for a long time. The characters are real Americans in a situation that insists they be the best they have to offer. Forgotten Heroes is the perfect gift for veterans, and an appropriate way to say, “Thank you,” and “Welcome Home.”

Note: Forgotten Heroes makes an Ideal Christmas Gift for the Veteran on your Christmas List

Trying to collect my thoughts, when each day seems to expose a new point of how we have subconsciously told oursleves (the “western” world part) that we are not fit to exist.

How? By averting our eyes, by purposefully pretending there is not evil, by, in the face of all evidence to the contrary, thinking “talking” still has a place in the toolkit of diplomatic methods.

War is the extension of diplomacy by other means. Some would consder it a last option, others would view it as a tool with specific applications, to be considered carefully, but put into play when the time arrives. Carl von Clausewitz wrote an entire book on this, and it still applies.

Iran is a nation that is no longer anation. It is a system of combined social, economic, political and religious life adhering to what we in the enlightened West think are 4 major, capable of being compartmented portions of a society. It is not. To think it is is a delusion, and a view through a set of filters of our own much mentioned “sepaearation of Church and State. In Islam, there is no separation, it just is the sum and whole, indivisble, without liberty for the masses, especially when the moniker of a “soverign nation” can be wrapped around it, so we in the west, somehow consider it to be a legitimate nation of good standing in the community of the Nations.

Here’ we are. Jimmy Carter set us on this path, and the President’s n between mostly contained the damage. President Obama seks to let the bad behavior run amok.

It is clear. Iran is going to drive the message of Islam, even that of a very minor faction of the religion, down the throats of humanity, despite the pain, suffering, and death, and honestly, the hell on earth it will cause.

“Peaceful” must mean “when all are subdued under Shar’ia” when the Iranian leadership speaks of developing “nuclear power” for peaceful purposes President Obama thinks he can talk them into stopping. Not a chance.

So, now we find out they are working on the triggering mechanism of a bomb, critical technology they must harness. How shall we treat this? We have put off, and put off, and put off even “engagement,” at their request. The time has been used to move closer to the end game of becoming a nuclear power, with stated intentions to use it, and where it will be used: Against Isreal, and “The Great Satan” That’s the US….

We’re in the cross hairs. Our President doesn’t seem to comprehend the gravity of the situation.

I know the question is:Â “Why do we have to be the World’s Police Force?

Because we are able to be, and no one else is willinf or able to be. Do you want that blood on your hands?

Think of it this way: If we are politically and militarily “decapitated,” by our own actions and thiers, then who shall stand in the gap in defense of freedom and human rights? No one. No one will be able to, and they shall cower in fear of the same fate, while staying alive long enough to be ruled by a brutal ideology, that will subjugate them anyway.

I’m meet you at the Gates of Vienna. We’re being called there once more. History is about to repeat itself, or not, depending on the courage left in the West.

Final Thought:Â There is nothing new under the Sun.

By: L. Brent Bozell

Last week, Fox News reported a jaw-dropping story about how our War on Terror has now become a war on ourselves. In September a team of Navy SEALs captured terrorist Ahmed Hashim Abed, a man known to the U.S. military as “Objective Amber,” the architect of the vicious and deadly attack on four American contractors in the summer of 2004. These poor men were shot, burned, and then their bodies were desecrated, hung from a bridge over the Euphrates River.

But instead of hailing the SEALs as heroes for bringing this vicious murderer to justice, three of them have been brought up on charges.

When Abed was captured, he was brought to Camp Baharia, a U.S. base two miles outside Fallujah. According to one attorney, Abed was turned over to the Iraqis by mistake and was later returned to U.S. custody. There are differing reports that he was punched in the gut and given a bloody lip.

The SEALs were faced with two options. One, choose an administrative hearing, facing no possibility of jail time or dishonorable discharge, but having their reputations forever tarnished. Two, choose a court-martial which could exonerate them completely or, if convicted, land them behind bars and end their military careers.

They have chosen the latter. So now they must stand trial, to defend themselves. The terrorists must be laughing in disbelief at us, especially when it’s a well-known fact that they inflict injury on themselves (or each other) while in captivity so as to accuse their captors of abuse. If true in this case, the ruse has worked beyond their wildest dreams.

Living in Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District I often get mailers of one of the left’s more spineless liberals – Congressman Mike Doyle. Mr. Doyle loves big government and is a proponent of continued socialist programs like Medicare and Social Security and if he was a little more vocal on the floor of the Congress he might be as well known for his insane ramblings as Rep. John Murtha is.

In his most recent “December 2005 Iraq Update” Congressman Doyle let’s slip that his strategy on Iraq is the same that we on the “right” have been saying the Democrats would take. I.e. there was no plan to bring troops home until Rep. Murtha opened his yap and now they want the credit when troops are brought home!

“For months now the Pentagon has been anticipating, if not actively planning, a manor drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq in the coming year. But only now, after Congressman Murtha spoke out, has the Bush administration begun suggesting that a drawdown is possible.”

What utter BULL CRAP! First he admits that the Pentagon has been working on figuring out how to get out troops home (i.e by WINNING the war!) and then in the next breath he says that it was because of Congressman Murtha! Mind up your make! This is double talk worthy of Senator John “I actually did vote for the $87 Billion before I voted against it” Kerry!

Oh, but that was not the only gem of psychobabble from the Congressman! “From the beginning, this administrations has lacked a clear, coherent policy for rebuilding Iraq and bringing U.S. troops home.” Apparently “win the war” isn’t considered a “clear, coherent policy” for this political hack. And for good measure he reiterates the same DNC talking points memo that were first issued.

“At the time I believed that the administration had failed to make a convincing case that Iraq possessed or was building weapons of mass destruction,” I guess the fact that Saddam said he had X amount of these weapons and failed to give up X amount isn’t enough “proof” for this ivory tower elitist! “[T]hat the Iraqi government played a role in the 9/11 terrorist attacks,” I don’t think that President Bush said they did but it is still something that the DNC feels the need to trumpet. “[T]hat Iraq posed and imminent threat to the United State,” again, NOT an issue because the argument was “Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike?” – President George W. Bush.

Sit down Congressman Doyle, you are apparently not educated enough and far too partisan to be thinking clearly. We’ve got a war to win. And we’ll do it without you or your idol Rep. Murtha. Thank you for your service but you are truly an idiot!
